Liga MX Soccer Take Toluca -1.5 GL over Atlas (9 p.m. EST, Saturday March 14) The two-time defending champs from Toluca host Atlas in Liga MX Matchday 11 this Saturday from Estadio Nemesio Diez. Atlas has been better this season than last, when they were one of the most porous defensive sides in the Liga. They have been respectable in that area. However, Atlas is not anywhere near the level of side that Toluca has. Toluca have the third best offense in the league through ten matches and they have the best defense by far, as they have allowed five goals through 10 matches. The next best defensive side has allowed eight, for comparisons sake, while the worst defensive side has allowed 26. Atlas is very unlikely to score here. Atlas is one of the worst road sides in Liga MX this season as they have three points in four tries, and they have scored only three goals while allowing eight. Toluca has four wins and a draw in five home matches, with 10 goals scored and three conceded. And in their last two visits to Toluca, Atlas lost both matches by an identical 4-1 score. We think we will see a similar result here!

Charlotte had won six straight but are coming off consecutive losses but we like what we have seen overall from this team and this looks like a great situation for them to get back on track. The Blazers have beaten some bad teams lately but this team is not very good and they will face a tough task tonight against a motivated Hornets club. Charlotte is a very strong road team this season, and we think they win this one by a comfortable scoreline.

We have two of the Top 6 defensive teams here in what should be a strong defensive matchup. Both teams have been trending to the under lately. Utah has gone under in four of their last five. None of the Wild’s last four games have gone under (two pushes and two unders). These teams played a couple weeks ago in Utah and the Mammoth won 5-2. But since that game, the Wild have allowed only two goals per game (in regulation). The last matchup was so recent that we think the Wild will be able to make the necessary adjustments on the defensive end to slow down the Utah attack. That Mammoth attack has been inconsistent, and they are on a back-to-back after a two-goal effort in Chicago last night so we see fatigue playing a factor here and we just don’t see them having much success against a stronger defensive opponent.
