Royals Predictions
To describe in one word our 2007 Kansas City Royals predictions
all you would need to say is ouch. The team is looking once again to lose
more than 100 games so don't expect any miracle runs like a few years ago.
This team is low on talent and is in the toughest division in baseball.

This team has lost more than 100 games in four out of
the last five years and this year the oddsmakers are setting their win
total at 67.5. We don't even think they can get to that number and
are taking the UNDER with a fairly strong play. This is one you
can easily cash in on before the season even starts. The starting
rotation is full of guys other teams thought had a lot of potential but
gave up on. We believe it was for good reason as Gil Meche,
Odalius Perez, and Zach Greinke are going to impress at times and look
completely lost most of the time. Meche was the big sign but he is
consistently around 5.00 ERA and is often injured. Perez put up a
6.20 ERA in 20 starts last year before getting bounced to the bullpen.
The Dodgers saw a few good years out of him but overall he was
consistently around 4.50 on the ERA scale in a very pitcher friendly
park. Greinke's only full year was back in 2005 when he went 5-17
with a 5.80 ERA. The guy didn't make a start until September last
year and for a young guy, can't seem to stay in the lineup. Of
course the team hasn't taken any chances because they never have
anything to play for. The bright spot might be with closer Octavio
Dotel.
We aren't going to waste a lot of words on this lineup.
There are only a couple of guys that you will have even heard of.
Mike Sweeney is in the designated hitter role, and is the only talented
bat with any kind of experience. The young guys in the lineup are
a crap shoot so it's anyone's guess if one of these guys will pan out
and produce. Grudzielanek will be at second and is the other
bright spot with a .300 average, but very little power or speed.
You want some good news about Kansas City? This is
one of the best teams to back since nobody in their right mind thinks
they are going to win any games. Last year if you bet on the
Royals every game you would have profited nearly $1500 for a $100
bettor. This is some information you can use, especially when you
find a situation when they might have a chance of being victorious.
As far as season long hopes you are not going to find them winning the
division or reaching the seventy-win mark any time soon. If all
things go well this team might beat a single team in the division, but
even that is highly unlikely.
