The season always starts with high hopes for a variety
of different teams, but there are only eight who make the playoffs and
we have the inside scoop on who is going to be in contention at the end
of the season. Browse below to find your favorite team and maybe
place a futures bet in on your favorite teams win total or maybe a wager
on them to win the division, league, or world titles.
A lot of hope for American League teams once again with the
White Sox, Tigers, Red Sox, Angels, and Yankees getting a lot of attention.
In the National League you have to look at the Mets for the real contender.
A surprise a lot of people are looking at is the Chicago Cubs, but after
finishing in the basement last year a significant turn around seems unlikely.
The NL East is looking like a two horse race between the Mets
and the Phillies. The Braves are a close third but the Marlins and
Nationals don't really have a shot to contend with the rest of the division.
In the Central everyone is looking at the Cards and the Cubs,
with a couple of bets being thrown in on the Astros and Brewers. The two
teams that are to be found in the basement are the Pirates and the Reds.
Down in the West we are liking the Dodgers chances to beat out
the Padres. After a couple of hard years the Diamondbacks and the Giants
should be in the middle of the pack with a small chance of making the playoffs.
Don't expect too many great things out of the Rockies this season as they most
likely will be in last place out West.
In the American League East it's the Yankees, Red Sox, Bluejays,
Orioles and Devil Rays. The top three teams all have a shot at making the
playoffs, with the Orioles not quite being good enough this year. Tampa
fans will be in for yet another season of disappointment.
The Central has been tough and this year it will be no
different. The White Sox and the Tigers are only slight favorites to beat
the Indians and Twins. This is going to be close all season long with any
of these teams having what it takes to go the distance. The Royals will be
one of the worst teams in baseball once again.
Out West there isn't a team that you can count out right away,
but the Angels are our favorite to escape this dog fight. The A's will
likely go into second with the Mariners and Rangers trying to keep out of the
basement.
